Season 7 Finale

The Voice

Here we are, once again…the end of another season! Congratulations to Craig Wayne Boyd and Blake Shelton on their victory. On that note, because I’ve seen a lot of hate already: there’s nobody that’s more Team Adam than me, and I suppose there’s no harm in saying now that I was rooting for Matt McAndrew to win, too.

But having worked with him for the last six weeks, I can tell you that Craig is equally talented, and also a really great human being. He was always a gentleman, who conducted himself with class and treated me with respect. He’s obviously a talented artist and he’s also going to be a great representative for our Voice family, and that’s what counts.

I’ll be filling out this post through the day with my last couple of articles on the finale.

Artist Update: Terry McDermott

The Voice

One of my favorite people from season three of The Voice was Terry McDermott. Terry’s been so busy, however, that we hadn’t spoken since he’d left the show – until now. So it’s my pleasure to bring you the latest and greatest from our fantastic Mr. McDermott as he and his band Lotus Crush prepare to bring out their new album. And yes, Terry is still as awesome as ever.

Top 8 Becomes Top 4

???????????????????

We’re now into our Voice finals! (And I’m now tired, since I had to get up this morning to wait around for the wild card announcement, instead of being able to write my article last night.) Congratulations to Chris, Craig, Matt and Damien on making it into the finale.

Here’s all the stuff you might not have seen this week:

The Voice

One of the things that’s nervewracking about The Voice every season is that things can change in an instant. Two weeks ago, we saw Blake – usually a very strong contender – whittled down to just one artist. Now this week’s results seem to put Adam in a great place. The balance of power swings so quickly. Click on over to Starpulse as I reflect on eliminations.

And if you missed them this week, I’ve been turning out a ton of Voice related articles at my various publishing partners: Top 8 performance review at Starpulse, more statistics at Examiner, and my interview with Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams at AXS.

Here’s a note: the folks at AXS have graciously started to host some of my news updates (the stuff that’s too short for a full-blown interview at Starpulse or Examiner), so if you’re into the news-type stuff like new videos or single releases, you want to keep an eye on my author page there.

The Voice continues next Monday at 8 PM ET/PT on NBC.

Top 10 Becomes Top 8

The Voice

A little bit delayed this week because I spent all night out in the cold covering the CityWalk tree lighting, but The Voice‘s Top 10 performed before that, and I evaluated their performances then picked my four favorites over at Starpulse. Top 8 revealed tonight!

Who Makes It Into The Top 12? (Now With Results!)

The VoiceThe live playoffs are here, and I’ve picked out the four best performances from each night, as well as singled out the artists I think each coach will save, at Starpulse. Click on the links below to see who would get my vote, and then make sure you tune in tonight at 8 PM ET/PT to see who makes it into Season 7’s Top 12.

Monday, November 10: Team Adam and Team Blake

Tuesday, November 11: Team Gwen and Team Pharrell

Wednesday, November 12: The Results

Note that starting next Monday, November 17, I will be on the red carpet at the live shows and so there will not be recaps for the rest of Season 7. Instead, watch this space for my interviews with the artists and coaches, and other behind-the-scenes tidbits in the final six weeks of the season.

Episode Recap: Season 7 Knockouts, Part 2

The Voice

The Voice‘s Knockouts continued on Tuesday at a slow pace, with only three new matches (and one that had already been spoiled by NBC’s social media). Still, it had a final round that shocked everybody with Pharrell’s surprise decision. Click on over to Starpulse to find out what happened.
